“Man, all of these TAFE workbooks and assessments are a drag 😫🥱, isn’t there a more fun way to learn about libraries 🤔💭🚀?”
Play is one of the best ways to foster mental stimulation and physical well-being, even for adults. For relatively sedentary work such as studying math or concepts about various topics, digital platforms provide opportunities for gamification and unlimited practice through activity-based learning 🕹️ 🎲 👾
I have scoured the internet and on this page have compiled some great library-related online games and interactive activities to help amuse your inner-child, or at least alleviate possible boredom 🚀

https://www.quia.com/cb/415196.html < ‘Dewey Decimal Fun’ - A trivia quiz about the Dewey Decimal system, can be played solo or with two players

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4197610/Librarian_Tidy_Up_the_Arcane_Library/ < Librarian: Tidy Up the Arcane Library!, available on Steam for $8.50. Looks like a simulation style game where the main objective is to shelve a huge assortment of books that have fallen off of the shelves of an antique Oxford-like library, with powerups that give the player the ability to shelve in efficient, fanciful ways.

https://digitalpreservation.library.cmu.edu/flash/etc/ < Developed by Carnegie Mellon University, this site hosts 2 flash games:
‘I'll get it’ - this is like Dine n Dash, but the game is broken and unplayable since the patrons' requests can't be seen after you interact with them, ugh 😒
‘Within Range’- practice shelving books as per Library of Congress classification

http://web.archive.org/web/20060907140744/http:/z.cs.utexas.edu/users/s2s/utopia/cogito/utopia.php?a=play&s2scodename=library4 < 'Order in the Library' - Developed by The University of Texas at Austin, Order in the Library is a sorting and shelving game (numerical and alphabetical ordering of books on shelves) which has a fantastic breadth of difficulty. Both Alphabetical sorting and Dewey Decimal sorting are available. Keep in mind that the game is perfectionistic when it comes to scoring 😬. The game is also playable in Spanish.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/3372420/LIBRITOPIA_Librarian_Simulator/ < Libritopia - Librarian Simulator, available on Steam for around $10 AUD. Looks to be a kind of management sim that might also be helpful for practicing front-of-house skills.
