TAFE stocks manga! The Ultimo campus in particular has a dedicated shelf section (the media lounge) that is adorned with dozens of popular and culturally-significant titles, but other campuses may have a few volumes in stock too. See the descriptions and screenshots below for more details! Always keep in mind that if your campus doesn’t have a particular title in stock, the TAFE Librarians can arrange for your selected titles to be delivered to your campus via Interlibrary Loan.
The TAFE Catalogue (TAFECat) has one format category for ‘Graphic Novels, Anime, and Manga’, which means that manga (monochrome, Japanese authorship) cannot be searched separately from occidental/western graphic novels.
This format category can be found using the filters in the left-hand side boxes. Go to the box for ‘Format Category’, then click the option for ‘Graphic Novels, Anime, and Manga’.

^1) Follow the path of the red arrows: Format Category>View All> select the checkbox for ‘Graphic Novel, Anime, and Manga’>Include
^2) Now you’ve filtered the results to only the format of GN, Anime, and Manga. There should be around 360+ results depending on when the search was performed since new title acquisition by the TAFE Libraries is ongoing.
To specify one or more campus libraries to look into, click the ‘Library’ box and select your desired campus location(s). Or, click ‘view all’ to see the full list of campus libraries, and how GN’s/Anime/Manga are distributed throughout the different TAFE campuses. I’ll select Ultimo for this example since they stock the greatest quantity. See the below left screenshot for the process, and the below right screenshot for the result.
^1) The campuses which stock GN’s/Anime/Manga are listed in descending order (sorting can be changed), and Ultimo stocks the most by far (100), even compared to the 2nd most abundant at Moree (55, almost half as much).
^2) With these narrowed search results, we can see the GNs, Anime, and Manga that are in stock at the Ultimo Campus. Magus of the Library volume 7 was the most recent addition (which I suggested the purchase of hehe 😉)
This skewed distribution of stock kinda makes sense since the library at Ultimo is MASSIVE. Furthermore, Ultimo houses a dedicated manga section in their media lounge. See the ‘item notes’ column in the below screenshot.
Not every record has an ‘Item Notes’ field, but those that do make mention of the Manga - Media lounge.
